Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Progress is slow and sometimes backwards. I saw my therapist again, and it seems in addition to the nerve problems I have a hip pointer that needs to heal as well. Many people ask how this happened and I asked as well - but that is the million dollar question. I really do not care, I am more interested in a return time to running, but that is cloudy as well - 6-9 months is still the out look.

AM- 2 miles, cold and rainy. First run in 10 days. Slow, some pain. Felt fine after and that is the goal of my therapist, run limited and feel fine, instead of going further and feeling pain all day. Happy to get out though- maybe I can string something together. Hope everyone is well!

Hi Dan! So happy to hear you can at least run a little bit ... Chin up!

From Steam8 on Mon, Dec 05, 2011 at 14:40:44 from 166.70.55.77

What is a hip pointer? I am so sorry to hear that you are still on the mend. Are you going to be able to run Boston? I hope so, because I would really love to chat with you in person!

Fortune cookie didn't see this one coming.

Bon! So good to hear from you. Keeping it positive :)

Steam- Hip Pointer is basically a fracture on the front point of the hip. 3-4 weeks to heal, but not horrible. I fully plan on running Boston. It may be just for the experience and a 4 1/2 hour or worse race, but maybe I can find someone to chat with during the race! Oh, but I am really looking forward to meeting some FRBers and chatting with you :)

Burt! I just had Chinese too - and NADA. I am sure I can sue someone over this.

Bummer..."but you can still breath"!

Sometimes our greatest accomplisments are getting to our goal and not the goal itself.

Good luck on the recovery. I guess 2 miles/day is better than nothing.

Might actually be fun to run Boston nice and easy, taking it all in, versus suffering through an all-out marathon anyway.
