Still fighting the sickness. Muscles, legs just are sore. I can breathe so I can run. Now my youngest is very sick.

Reverse Taper- take 2. Last week was all jumbled, so I decided to start over. Runner's prerogative.

Feeling ok-ish. My left quad is bugging me, but only when I run. Oh the body. Need to get some longer runs in soon.

Did not have time for more with a full day of work- pushed my pace some to see how the legs would respond.

6 miles- slow pace. About 5 miles in I had a guy stop his truck and ask me for directions to a certain street. I let him know where it was and he asked how far I was running. After a few moments of conversation we talked about marathon running. He said he used to run 7 mile, but not any marathons. All is normal until he said, well I am 69 now so I don't run after my quintuple by-pass surgery. He pulls his shirt down and shows me his scars, and said "I ate too much junk food", thanked me for directions and left. I knew it was going to be a banner day.

Leg update. After doing some exercises and testing I have figured out my legs have recovered fine but my slow progress is all in my left quad. I think the muscle is strained - just don't know how bad. I will have to go back to the docs I am afraid. I am leaving on a work trip Sunday too so it won't be right away for the doc. Trip is in Cancun so I will just have to suffer that one out.

Took yesterday off running, took some vitamin 1, used the foam roller. Ran 7 today and its the best my quad has felt since the marathon. Problem the best still hurt, just not as bad. Hopefully it will heal, but after the trip I know I have to visit  PT.

Lot's of packing today- heading out early. Its a work meeting/retreat in Cancun. Yes I know, rough. I have a few running people from work there so I should get a few miles in as long as everything holds up!

Back from Cancun. Good trip, but happy to be home. Did a little easy running with one fast day with some people from work. I was hoping the rest (even with the meetings and travel) would do me well, but my leg still is bothering me more than it should. Monday I will be setting up my PT and hopefully they can get me back sooner than later. I noticed my range of motion is very poor right now as well- I am going to need some yoga and over all stretching as well. Time to see what is going on here :)

PT and doc today, my regular doc sent me to a specialist and that is a good thing I suppose if I want to get rid of the pain keeping me down. Well after an hour of tests, stretches, video taping of my stride, massaging, poking and plain old jabbing at my nerves she thinks the problem is with the nerves in my lumbar area (L2-L4) and the femoral nerve.

I can't run yet, as she is having me do a battery of stretches and exercises every 2 hours. That should be fun when I am at work :) Hopefully Thursday I will get the green light to run and she will isolate the problem (and therefore the way through it) even more then.

Time for some more Doctor Who.

2.5 Painful miles. PT still going and she has me doing exercises/nerve stretches every 2 hours. At moments it eases up and others are tough to keep moving. *IF* I can't make it worse, I may try and gut out some miles these days. Next PT appointment is Tuesday, hoping for improvement.

5 Easy, sugarcreek trails. First half mile was pain free, but then it came back. PT is working, but seems soooo slow. I have not been around- crazy work week and this nerve issue is kicking my tail. Hope to have more info soon.
