Vacation running... have to love it. I am in Florida at my dads now. This week was running less miles than planned, but after running each morning we walked around Universal Orlando (Studios and Islands of Adventure) all day so I am thinking that has to count and some sort of relaxed cross training after all those miles (I actually was going to be a geek for awhile and wear my Garmin to see how many miles the park is, but disapproving looks from the teenager made me stop - but she loved when I wore my orange shoes in the park).

As far as a vacation site, the theme parks were amazing. My only real complaint is how much you pay up front and yet then continue to nickel and dime you. I mean pay for parking at the hotel after the rooms were how much!!??! They had a great 'gym'... oh wait, that cost more too.... luckily I planned on running outside so it would (and was) hot. Anyway, let me get off the money side of vaca, because the parks were simply the best I've been too. I am a thrill ride junky anyway so coasters were a blast, but the themes and effort they put into these areas I would recommend to anyone - so so fun.  We are HP fans so the Hogwarts castle, themes, pumpkin juice and butter beer were nice and yummy. I could go on for hours on different aspects of details or shows, again it was amazing,

Now at dads, he lives on the gulf side and he spent an hour explaining to me why it is so humid in Florida now. That's what dads do. Over all my legs are still somewhat sore,  and even though the taper has stated and I am down miles, I think the rest will serve me well. 80/90% today. It will be hot and humid for the near future so when I get back it should feel like great running weather.

Glad you had a great time in Orlando, enjoy the Gulf beaches, I love it over there! I get depressed reading about people tapering when they still have me beat on the mileage board, when I am 40 days from my marathon & should be peaking my mileage! Keep resting those legs, they will be ready to roll come race day!

Hey...You're back on the Blog! Sounds like things are going great on your vacation. Glad you're enjoying the theme parks... For me, I'm kinda worn out by them. I guess it's all the long hours working there at night!

Theme parks are the best, especially if you can avoid the major crowds!

I can't wait till my son is old enough for the parks! Sounds like a great time.

We are saving all of our pennies so we can take the whole family to Florida mainly for Hogwarts. I was 1st year teacher the year the first three books came out in the US and I taught in a very rough area. It was amazing what those books did for kids who would otherwise never read! And the movies were so darn good, sad they are over!

Anyway, thanks for the review! We so need to get there...but 7 people! Let's talk about MONEY!!!!

HAVE FUN! And I think you should wear your Garmin in the park, that would be very interesting!

JG- thanks, will do. Don't let the mileage phase you, I put in some extra miles that far out and I really don't know if it paid off. IJR- yep, working late there would take away the fun! Andrea- You are so right! We researched our butts off and September (after Labor Day) are by far the best time to go- they always have people but we avoided the massive crowds. We home school so we started school early to do this! Ham- When they are of age, take'm! Kelli- Save those Pennies!! We did, trust me! We cancelled anything extra (cable, etc) and put it all towards our vacation envelope (Dave Ramsey). When you decide to go, talk to me- there are a few extras that are well worth buying (like the express pass for anyone riding- major time savor and allows you to explore more of the park) as well as food options, its very expensive. Seriously though, based off what you just said, you have to go, there was so much to it. All of us have read all 7 books and of course watched them all, we even listened to them on disk while we drove to FL so we really appreciated all the details. Feel free to ask anything, I'd love to share- PM/Email/Call/Whatever!

We are aiming for next fall. We have to FLY, that is the pricey. Well, I guess we do not have to but a drive from Utah to Florida with all my kids would be disaster. California is hard enough!

I will see if my husband is up for canceling cable---I AM! Too much ESPN!

It is why I decided to work another year. My meager little teaching job will get us there!!! Now I am very excited. Maybe we can save faster and go in the spring!
