Crazy weather in these parts. We avoided the tornadoes thankfully, but major wind the last few days kept me from posting.

Decent run, quad started to bother me after mile 14, but not dreadful. MP-ish miles 5 (7:10), 10 (7:21) and 15.

54- rain rain rain... slow run, quad starting hurting after a mile. I am a little concerned about holding it together while building that base back all in 5 weeks.

44 to start the run and ended at 50. very sunny and nice. I feel like I have been forcing the speed issue too soon. I ran this nice and easy. I figure I just want to get to that starting line again and whether I run a 7:15 pace or a 9:30 pace I am not sure it is going to matter. I did take some Vitamin1 before the run and it felt alright. Other than a bug that flew in my eye at mile 12, just soaked up this run.

Started my run at 53 degrees and was 70 in 2 hours. Humid today. Almost got hit at mile 13 thanks to guy who did not invest in the 'blinker package' for his truck. It was a nice truck too so you would think he would paid the extra for it. Ran out of fuel and water so the last 5 were a bit of a gut check. 8:59 ap just getting the miles in.

76 warm running. Finished the evening on some trails was able to spot some deer.  Wonderfully graceful, I need to be like that! Plus they taste good, but that's another topic...

I actually felt kinda strong towards the end  the run, obviously a good sign, but let's see what the week brings.

AM- 63, nice weather, easy 4

PM-  81, hot again, some hills then trails. Quad spasm in the first mile but then felt good, ran a few fast miles, last one at mp and felt strong.... Hope this continues. Maybe too little too late for Boston, but I will take it. 7502 is my bib, somehow I am in the first wave. Going to have to figure out how to find some of ya.

Great running temps, 63. 20 felt good today, tired at the end, but I think that's normal right? 8:24 AP. Goal was to just run them and see if I could get any miles in the 'marathon' trot. I had a few sub 8's that felt easy- first time during recovery I can say that so that is a good sign. Maybe I will be able to get a round or two of speed work in before Boston, but I won't push it.

Ran a little with my 11 year old daughter,  she really wants to try her first 5k in 4 weeks. I'm going to do it with her after Boston.

So I limited my miles because I was tired, but also banged my right knee on the dresser. So a non running injury, but it hurts right now.

Quick run - not speed miles but a little effort after a warm up, many hills. Overall felt decent. AP 8:10.

AM run - 41, easy

New shoes arrived while I was at work. I planned on running a short PM run anyway (4.5), so why not break them in. 7:51, 6:51, 6:41, 6:31 (.5).  Wow am I out of shape when it comes to speed. I wasn't running all out, but I figured I'd push some. I am going to have to get 100% and really put some effort into this late spring.

So I started today wanting to run 20, but this would be the 4th straight 20 miler on Sat. Normally when I am logging big miles I wouldn't think to much about it, but I was sore yesterday and if I am trying to run by feel (pfeel?) - I better give what the body can take... or is that take what it can give. Either way. So I decided on 16 today. I was trying to figure out what would be a 'realistic' goal for Boston. I just want to enjoy it, but I am a competitor. I figure if I can get under 3:30 for a recovery I would be more than satisfied. I set the Garmin for 8 minute miles. Yeah a year ago that would be easy, but now it is tough for me to hold that long term

Hour before the run I had my bang bang (dynamite-spicy) shrimp. I did not know if that was smart or not, but it worked out well enough. 16 Miles, AP 7:52, splits 7:59, 7:53, 7:57, 7:52, 7:45, 7:48, 7:51, 7:51, 7:59, 7:58, 7:50, 7:55, 7:52, 7:53, 7:58, 7:27. Some of these were on hills and a pretty constant head wind so I was happy to keep it even. The last mile I sped it up to my old MP and had plenty in the tank at the end so a good run. Finish off with one of my non-dairy, coconut water based fruit smoothies. Yum-o!
